Parcival’s Dream Team
July 13, 2006 on 8:45 pm | In Miscellaneous | Comments OffSo, the Worldcup in Germany is over and here is Parcival’s soccer dream team:
Keeper: Van der Sar (NED)
Defense: Senderos (SWI), Carlos (BRA), Lahm (GER)
Midfield: Ribéry (FRA), Beckham (ENG), Yakin (SWI), Maniche (POR)
Offense: Van Persie (NED), Crouch (ENG), Messi (ARG)
I was told in the newspaper that every team making it to the final rounds of the worldcup played with four guys in the defense. Oh well, this might be a winning strategy, but I doubt the spectators are too thrilled about it. So this is my newspaper’s dream team:
Keeper: Buffon (ITA)
Defense: Cole (ENG), Cannavaro (ITA), Thuram (FRA), Grosso (ITA)
Midfield: Barnetta (SUI), Zidane (FRA), Pirlo (ITA)
Offense: Ribéry (FRA), Klose (GER), Ronaldo (POR)
Boring. All they managed to do was knocking some players together from the semi-finals (except Cole and Barnetta). My selection is better because it balances young players we will still hear from with old veterans. I guess I should go and check if my Playstation2 has a fantasy option.
On a related note: looks like the final word in terms of worldcup songs hasn’t be said yet. Instead, this song promises to become this year’s summer chart hit.
