The importance of a good set of tires
February 5, 2007 on 3:31 pm | In Miscellaneous |vowe just posted a video link to the crash of Richard Hammond which has obviously been broadcasted now by the BBC. Here some more background details:
Top Gear is a highly successfull, although controversial auto show on BBC. In fall 2006, one of the presenters, Richard Hammond, had a serious accident while filming for the upcoming season and had to spend several months in rehab. Because of this accident the entire season has been postponed until Richard is back on his feet again.
However, Top Gear wouldn’t be Top Gear if it weren’t for its constant joking even in the face of accidents taking sarcasm pretty much to its limits:
Hammond revealed that he has a pact with his co-presenters that, should one of them die in an accident, the following edition of Top Gear would open with the remaining two presenters solemnly mentioning the death and then remaining silent for a moment. They would then start a new sentence, in which the first word would be ‘Anyway’ and continue to happily report about cars.
