Loosing my soul
April 17, 2008 on 10:11 pm | In Miscellaneous | No CommentsIndians originally believed that they are loosing their soul when being photographed. My art teacher in high school explained that for tribal people, untouched by western civilization, the only way to see their mirrored image is when they are actually at the location of the mirror, e.g. when they look into a clear (or dirty) pond. With photographs it was suddenly possible to keep somebody’s mirrored image elsewhere, so who’s to blame them for loosing their presence/soul?
Moving pictures is a lot more profane these days. I just made Picasa my new home for my pictures because it integrates in iPhoto and I got sick of Ringo’s ads. Happy browsing. ![]()
I have a dream
