About Me

I am a passionate Warhammer hobbyist playing exclusively Blood Angels at the moment. Besides those, I also have a Space Orkz army as well as a Wood Elves and Dwarfs army for Warhammer Fantasy Battle.

When I was in my teens, I started out with the Role Playing Game Das Schwarze Auge and collected miniatures for that purpose. My RPG buddies were already into Blood Bowl and Warhammer Fantasy and let me use their Games Workshop paints, so it was just a matter of time until I played Blood Bowl and Warhammer Fantasy as well.

When I started to study at the university, I packed away my miniatures because I was about to start the “serious part” of my life. My Elves and Dwarfs spent years dormant in an old shelf. After I moved to Zürich (family & work) I happened to step in a store selling Games Workshop products and I was immediately hooked again. Zürich mostly has a Warhammer 40’000 community, however, so that’s how I got started on Blood Angels and Space Orkz with the Elves and Dwarfs still laying dormant… however, there will be a time when they see the light of the day again and the age of the miniatures will show that I am a true veteran.

I am mostly into this hobby because of greatly modeled miniatures, the painting, and the background stories. My playing style is rather relaxed, but of course I like to win as well every once in a while. Therefore, my army lists usually feature a couple competitive units and units I merely take for the sake of character and/or because I like them. My preferred location to hang out in Zürich is the League of Gentlemen as they are sporting the same type of playing style that I like. Well, gentlemen style, as the name says.

In the time I spent without any Warhammer stuff I studied psychology and put my focus on vision and work conditions/environments. I am interested in how tools are designed to be used effortlessly so one can concentrate on the actual work rather than the tool itself. I currently work as an ergonomist and have a wonderful wife and daughter.
