On very heavy rotation
May 25, 2008 on 10:58 am | In Miscellaneous | No CommentsSo last evening was Marroni’s Eurovision Song Contest party and we all had a great laugh commenting on the various contestants. The winner of hearts were definitely those from France and Spain.
She likes the winning song from Russia, but I find it just - boring.
Currently, Iceland’s This is my life has the “Repeat One” flag set in my iTunes (Youtube video here). I don’t care whether it should be called Trance or Eurodance, but it makes you all excited to parade around Zurich’s lakefront in August. ![]()
Der grosse Aufschwung
May 13, 2008 on 8:08 am | In Humor, Miscellaneous | No CommentsOver the weekend, Marroni and I were in the Emmenthal (3500 Equiville) to solve a mystery behind bizarre homicides. Although we weren’t able to completely solve the puzzle, we had a lot of fun acting as the Nobelprize Committee and developing a wide set of conspiracy theories on why the lives of certain actors got prematurely terminated.
There are still two weekends of play left and you can get all the necessary information here if you wanna join. Although they are basically sold out, they may still get late cancellations. If you wanna read some reactions by the press, you may read them here and here (some of the plot is spoiled, but not the solution, of course).

When trucks stop, America stops!
April 29, 2008 on 8:31 am | In Miscellaneous | No CommentsAs angry truckers encircled the Capitol in a horn-blaring caravan and consumers across the country agonized over $60 fill-ups, the issue of high fuel prices flared on the campaign trail on Monday, sharply dividing the two Democratic candidates.

Loosing my soul
April 17, 2008 on 10:11 pm | In Miscellaneous | No CommentsIndians originally believed that they are loosing their soul when being photographed. My art teacher in high school explained that for tribal people, untouched by western civilization, the only way to see their mirrored image is when they are actually at the location of the mirror, e.g. when they look into a clear (or dirty) pond. With photographs it was suddenly possible to keep somebody’s mirrored image elsewhere, so who’s to blame them for loosing their presence/soul?
Moving pictures is a lot more profane these days. I just made Picasa my new home for my pictures because it integrates in iPhoto and I got sick of Ringo’s ads. Happy browsing. ![]()
