Loosing my soul
April 17, 2008 on 10:11 pm | In Miscellaneous | No CommentsIndians originally believed that they are loosing their soul when being photographed. My art teacher in high school explained that for tribal people, untouched by western civilization, the only way to see their mirrored image is when they are actually at the location of the mirror, e.g. when they look into a clear (or dirty) pond. With photographs it was suddenly possible to keep somebody’s mirrored image elsewhere, so who’s to blame them for loosing their presence/soul?
Moving pictures is a lot more profane these days. I just made Picasa my new home for my pictures because it integrates in iPhoto and I got sick of Ringo’s ads. Happy browsing. ![]()
Comments open again
March 14, 2008 on 9:13 am | In Miscellaneous | No CommentsWhen I opened this blog, I closed the comments function quite soon due to spam and because I found wordpress’ concept of handling spam not very convincing.
However, several friends asked for the ability to post comments and since the new wordpress ships with the Askimet plugin, I decided to give it a try. However, depending on how this develops, I might close down the comments again, especially if more spam than actual comments arrive.
Therefore, I wish happy commenting. ![]()
‘Upset’ is the word.
February 4, 2008 on 5:42 am | In Miscellaneous | Comments OffToday is going to be a really bad day. And whenever I go back to NYC, I’ll shop for Patriots’ fan apparel on purpose.
(I’m a fan of the New England Patriots since 1997 when I watched Drew Bledsoe playing offense.)

By now, it knows all the time tables back to Zurich by heart.
(Marroni and I don’t agree wether it’s a boy or a girl.)
